INPI published last Friday, January 26, the Action Plan 2018, document that defines the guidelines, goals and initiatives that will guide the Institute’s activities throughout the year, aligned with the strategic guidelines of the Ministry of Industry, Foreign Trade and Services (MDIC).
For 2018, three priority deliverables, 10 targets and 30 initiatives were defined, organized into four axes: operational efficiency, personnel, cooperation and infrastructure and management.
Among the institutional guidelines that will guide the work of the Institute, stands out those related to the improvement of services: (i) reduction of the backlog of patents, trademarks and industrial designs in the first instance; (ii) the preparation of INPI for the Madrid Protocol (international trademark registration system), and (iii) the improvement, harmonization and agility in the process of examining requests for records of geographical indications.
